APPLICATION PROCESS:
Step 1: Admissions Requirements:
All interested parents need to fill out the application forms and documents to be considered for admissions. Families may start the application process as early as September of the previous school year.
Once all the application documents and forms have been submitted, the next step is to schedule an admissions evaluation. These evaluations are administered during school hours by our school psychologists.
*For students applying to Toddlers 1 (One year olds) - Toddlers 3 (3 year olds): A family interview and student observation.
*Students applying to PK, Kinder and 1st grade: A grade level evaluation and a family interview.
*Students applying to 2nd grade - 11th grade:
The admissions evaluation has three components:
a) Standardized tests in English language, mathematics and reading
b) English essay
c) A student Interview
d) A family interview
Step 3: Registration:
Families who accept our offer of admission will need to complete the documents required for registration (listed below) and select a payment plan:
Additional Requirements for Students Transferring from Abroad:
1. The student’s original birth certificate with an APOSTILLE. This seal must come from a Dominican Consulate in the city where the student was born.
2. An official final report card for the most recent school year with an APOSTILLE from a Dominican Consulate in the city where the student completed the school year.
*Students applying to 7th grade through 11th grade, must also submit official final report cards (or transcript) with an Apostille, for all the grade levels completed since 6th grade.
When the family arrives in Dominican Republic, these documents need to be translated into Spanish by an official and authorized public translator, and then submitted to the Dominican Ministry of Education for validation. This procedure will be required to enroll in any Dominican school.

Teaching and administrative employment opportunities are usually identified in the winter or spring for the upcoming school year. Saint Joseph School believes in continual renewal and change in order to obtain the expected results in terms of student learning. Therefore, the school is always engaged in actions that help the school improve, specially in areas of particular need as well as the school as a whole. School Improvement is led by the school Leadership Council which is a group of administrators, teachers, and parents that work with the director to develop, review and evaluate school improvement programs.
Saint Joseph School is run by the AcademicDirector who makes decisions on a day-to-day basis and fulfills all administrative duties for the School.
The Saint Joseph School Board of Directors, which is formed by members of the community, governs the school under the mandate of the Saint Joseph School Board of Trustees. The Directors of the Board maintain the vision and steer the School’s direction as it carries out the Vision and Purpose Statement.
Saint Joseph School has been accredited by the Dominican Republic Ministry of Education since 1999. It is also accredited by COGNIA (AdvancED), which is an international association that operates in the United States as an accrediting agency to colleges and schools that comply with its established criteria of educational quality.
